A Pennsylvania girl could lose her arm after being bitten by a poisonous snake at school.
The local police chief says the 14-year-old could have died if she hadn't gotten the quick medical treatment she did.
The teen, listed in very serious condition, is still undergoing treatment.
According to authorities, a male student caught a copperhead snake and brought it to school in a shoebox. The boy was showing the reptile to fellow students when it bit the girl's finger.
The girl reportedly threw the snake across the room and the boy tossed it outside. The copperhead hasn't been found.
No charges have been filed, but an investigation is underway.
