An 83-year-old Indian man has reportedly opted to spend the last fifty years living in a tree after an argument his wife. India's Mumbai Mirror says Gayadhar Parida took to residing in a mango tree after what he calls a 'tiny issue' with his wife 50 years ago.

A 78-year-old woman was rushed to the hospital after being bitten by a 5-foot snake while watching television inside her home. The snake is one of the world's deadliest varieties. Valerie Makin was sitting on her couch knitting and watching the tube when she spotted the unlikely home invader out of the corner of her eye. When she tried to flick it away, it stuck its fangs in her left arm.

Wildlife officials are expressing great concern in Louisiana and Mississippi about swamp lands and outlying areas pounded by storm surges and flooding they say are confusing local wildlife and sending alligators, snakes, and other dangerous animals into public streets. There are reports of sightings of hundreds of alligators swimming in flooded streets in Louisiana as well as snakes in northern parts of New Orleans.
