Shoppers were surprised when they cut into their green peppers and found plastic bags of cocaine inside the vegetables bought at a New York City grocery store.
Three separate shoppers reported the drug-stuffed peppers to authorities.
Health department officials and police officers with K-9 units are searching the Queens grocery store where the peppers were sold.
Authorities reportedly don't suspect the store owner of being involved.
The peppers were imported from South America and investigators reportedly suspect that the company that sold the peppers was responsible for the cocaine being inside the vegetables.
