A three-year-old girl from Guthrie, Okla. , saved her pregnant mother's life by dialing the emergency number 911 using the lyrics of the song "911 green. "The 24-year-old Jessica Eaves discovered it pays to teach children young important procedures like dialing an emergency number when she taught her daughter Madelyn, the song one week after discovering she has vasovogal syncope which causes her to faint.

Authorities detained a British woman for allegedly going against a civil order and playing extremely loud music, causing disturbance within the neighborhood. According to local police, 33-year old Tracey Kirby, mother of three, insisted on playing Madonna songs at full blast, despite the local court sending an anti-social behavior order (Asbo) and retrieving her stereo in response to the complaints of local residents. Neighbors claim that the woman had violated the order a total of 11 times, continuously playing songs from what was apparently her favorite musical artist.

An MP3 player bought from a Wal-Mart store in Tennessee has shocked a 10-year-old girl, who saw pornographic videos and heard songs about using drugs from the device when she played it. The girl's father, Daryl Hill, who bought three of the players as Christmas presents for his children, has complained with the store in Sparta. His daughter cried upon seeing the obscene videos and the father is at a loss on how to erase the explicit images from her young mind.

American Idol isn't the only "Idol" making international news. In Australia, siblings competing for the "Idol" spot are becoming rather common. This year, Jessica Mauboy, the 2006 Australian Idol Runner-up, may see older sister Catharine on the competition stage in front of Ian "Dicko" Dickson, Marcia Hines, Mark Holden, and Kyle Sandilands vying for the 2007 title. Lavina Williams, sister of 2005 runner-up Emily Williams, made it to the 2006 finals along with Chris Murphy, who is 2004 contestant Courtney's brother.
