China's official news agency Xinhua reports a mysterious disease has killed 17 farmers in southwestern China. 41 more are been hospitalized. Preliminary investigations reveal the victims became infected after butchering sick pigs or sheep. Xinhua also says those affected have developed symptoms like high fever, fatigue, nausea and vomiting.

Glastonbury rock music festival is turning out to be the most effective anti-crime measure in Britain. Almost 120,000 people attend the annual event, consuming vast amounts of alcohol. Yet, authorities say crime figures didn't go up.

One Colombian mayor puts ban on gossip in his town. Ignacio Jimenez, mayor of Icononzo, southwest of Bogota, told a local newspaper he decreed the ban because loose tongues can cost lives in Colombia - in the grips of a guerrilla war involving Marxist rebels and far-right paramilitary outlaws.

Twins have a long tradition of doing everything together. Twin sisters Mary Maurer and Melanie Glavich took that to a new level after giving birth to sons 35 minutes apart on Thursday. Maurer and Glavich say they weren't surprised to share the same due date, May 27nd, for their second babies.
