An Austrian Airlines jet was set back by an unscheduled stop to search for an escaped hamster smuggled in by a passenger. The Palma de Mallorca, Spain, to Graz flight stopped over at Innsbruck as a precaution ensuring that the rodent didn't gnaw through any wiring.

A Korean man's search for the football used in South Korea's historic win against Spain during the 2002 World Cup comes to an end. Lee Jae-Hyung had been searching for the famous football for four years. A referee of the quarter-final match, Egyptian Gamal Ghandour, kept the ball and considered it a prized possession.

Police in Madrid, Spain arrested four Frenchmen who were reportedly jumping in front of moving vehicles so they could film their reactions and post the footage on the Internet. Authorities in Alicante Spain said the four took turns leaping in front of moving vehicles on the road between Benidorm to La Nucia, which causes the driver to swerve violently or make a hard break to avoid hitting them. Officials say the four endangered the lives of the driver and passengers in other vehicles.

Man is vain in nature. At least that is what scientists in Dublin, Ireland have found after examining prehistoric bodies found in the peat bogs of Ireland. The Times says at least two prehistoric bodies, which were estimated to be 2,300 years old, showed evidence of male grooming.

A team of researchers have discovered an ancient link with an animal long gone. The scientists from Uppsala University in Sweden have uncovered a strand of DNA, believed to be 400,000 years old.
