Researchers Find Two Popular Fertility Treatments No Better Than Natural Method

Two common fertility treatments involving an ovary-stimulating drug and artificial insemination to improve the chances of conceiving a child yields the same results as no treatment at all, according to a study published Friday. Clomifene citrate, best known by its brand names Clomid and Serophene, a drug used by millions of women in recent decades to stimulate ovaries to produce eggs, failed to improve the odds of becoming pregnant, researchers in Britain said.

But because of Nancy's severe endemetriosis and hysterectomy, she could not bear a child over 10 years of marriage to Thomas.

In a small clinic at Kaival Hospital in Anand, infertile couples worldwide could be matched with local Indian women who could deliver their babies at a cost of around $10,000. The fee already includes the entire procedure, including fertilization, medical expenses and the fee for the surrogate mother.
