Dog Warns Minnesota Woman Of House Fire

A woman managed to escape from a house fire in the nick of time, thanks to the warning from her dog. Cathy Minnig of Eagan, Minn. was exercising on the treadmill located at the basement of her home Wednesday, noticed her Labrador puppy, Riley, jumping up and down the couch, and acting in an unusual manner. Minnig, who was listening to her iPod during the time, took of her headphones to hear the sounds of fire alarms.

Egypt Sees Man Fraud 900 People For 22 Million Dollars

Egyptian security forces arrested a man who committed acts of fraud against at least 900 Egyptians and took over 120 million Egyptian pounds ($22 million) from them, after being on the run for weeks. The accused was arrested in a 2 star hotel in downtown Cairo, were had been hiding for two days. Abdullah Kamel Mohamed, 50 years-old, sold the apartments in his residential building in Giza to over 900 people and took the 120 million pounds from them after having given them false and illegal contracts.

China: Six-Legged Frog Is Star Of A Restaurant

"I bought more than 5 kilos of frogs from the market the other day, and upon coming back found that one of them has six legs," says chef Xiao Song.

China To Make A Cartoon Series About Confucius As A Tribute To His 2,560th Birth Anniversary

The Chinese Confucius Foundation in cooperation with China's two media giants inked a $ 5. 3 million deal on Friday to make a cartoon series highlighting the life and teachings of the popular ancient philosopher, Confucius. The cartoon series, to be composed of 100 episodes in 13-minuter format each, will be aired to mark the 2,560th birth anniversary of Confucius in 2009.

Construction Begins On "Great Wheel Of China" In Beijing

China has begun work on what will be the world's largest Ferris wheel at Chaoyang Park in east Beijing. The $99 million and 682 feet high Great Wheel of China is expected to have 48 fully air-conditioned compartments that can accommodate 40 people each and will hold a total of 1920 passengers at a time.
