In a bid to cash in on renewed interest in space travel, a U. S. company opens operations in China to sell land on the moon for 289 yuan or 37 dollars an acre. Lunar Embassy has began operations in Beijing Wednesday. Li Jie, agent for the company in China, says it will issue customers a "certificate" that ensures property ownership, including rights to use the land and minerals up to three kilometers, (roughly two miles), underground.

American moviegoers helped lift The Fog over the relatively quiet weekend, bringing the remake of director John Carpenter's horror flick to the top of the box office with $12. 2 million. The film stars "Smallville" hunk Tom Welling and "Lost" star Maggie Grace. Landing in second place was Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, with $11. 7 million, while director Cameron Crowe's Elizabethtown' debuted with $11 million in the number 3 spot.

Popular television comedy Will and Grace managed to flawlessly play live on television for their first episode of their final season, despite going through a few cases of the giggles. The episode was broadcasted live twice, once for the eastern coast, and again for the western coast of the United States.
