In a promotional push for a 99 Cents Only store, the first nine customers in line, were given an iPod Nano for just 99 cents.
A Sacramento television station KCRA reports that the line wrapped around the store's parking lot.
Jeremiah Williams was the first person in line, arriving with a tent and sleeping bag.
Williams explains his willingness to sit in line overnight.
"iPod would be my Christmas present to myself."
An iPod Nano's retail price is $199.
