A Florida school teacher will serve no time in prison as part of plea agreement in which she pleads guilty to having sex with a 14-year-old middle school student. 25-year old Debra Lafave pleads guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious battery. She will serve three years of house arrest and seven years probation.

A Nicholas County High School student was suspended after being accused of urinating in an ice machine that at least 31 people used before the incident was reported. School law officials say the teen will be charged but they are unsure what to charge him with. Right now, the teen is serving a ten day suspension, pending an expulsion hearing. The incident happened after another student dared the boy and while there were several witnesses, it wasn't reported to the school's principal until the next day. By the time the machine was taken out of service, some students and staff had taken ice from the machine.

A Cuban woman ships herself to Miami in a wooden crate on a cargo plane. U. S. authorities are now allowing her to stay permanently. Sandra De los Santos has received political asylum. She says she's studying English and hopes to become an ultrasound technician.
