Long Island High School Bans Halloween Costumes

Long Island high school principal Nicholas Restivo recently banned all Halloween costumes at the school, due to three senior girls who showed up at the school controversially dressed as the scantily-clad comic book hero, Captain Underpants. The girls were described to have been wearing beige-colored leotards and nude stockings, under white briefs, and red capes, as reported by the Associated Press. The report said that their choice of costume made them look naked.

Postcard Reaches Recipient After 64 Years

A Japanese soldier from World War II stationed in Burma (now Myanmar), sent a postcard to his friend was received after 64 years after it was sent. The postcard was kept by a former U. S. soldier and a Japanese exchange student. According to Mukogawa Women's University, the card traveled in three different countries and one state, including Burma, Nagasaki, Arizona and Hawaii before reaching Shizuo Nagano, 80, in southern Kochi prefecture.

Japanese Postcard Reaches Destination 64 Years Later

A postcard sent by a Japanese soldier from Burma during World War II has finally been received, 64 years after it was sent. The postcard traveled through Burma, Nagasaki, Arizona and Hawaii before reaching 80-year-old Shizuo Nagano in southern Kochi prefecture, according to Mukogawa Women's University. A student from the university was instrumental in the postcard reaching its final destination.

Nude Self-Portrait On Rug Stolen

A life-size nude self-portrait woven on a monk's cloth, vanished Monday night from Linfield College where it was being exhibited. Tamera Bremer was visibly upset when her life-size nude self-portrait titled "the sexy sex: all-nude review rug one," was stolen from the exhibit.

Penniless Filipino Child Returns $400; Showered With Gifts For His Honesty

n a country where most people live on just a dollar or less a day, an 11-year-old boy who gathers discarded plastic bottles for money returned the equivalent of over $400 USD that he found on the road. Gicoven Abarquez is penniless, malnourished and has never owned a pair of shoes. He works the streets of Dagupan City in northern Philippines to help his parents make ends meet. He is one of the thousands of Filipino boys, some barely in their teens, who go to school and also work collecting discarded plastic containers to sell back to recycling centers.
