In an apparent imitation of an MTV prank, four Long Island eighth graders handed out laxative laced doughnuts to their classmates, sending some of them back home and a few to the hospital. According to officials at Sequoya Middle School, the doughnuts were served to some 18 students and a staff member who then reported the school officials.

The children were feeling well and the parents were informed of the situation, the school officials said in a statement, according to WABC-TV reports.

Several ambulances and police department officials were reported at the scene, it said.

"I don't think it's funny," Superintendent Dr. Charlie Murphy told the WABC-TV.

"We had what must have been 12 police officers respond, a countless number of EMT people in the local area responded, and you've disrupted a whole school day. I don't find anything funny in the situation," he said adding that the school will take disciplinary action against the perpetrators.
