An attempted robbery at a Capitol Hill home took a bizarre turn when the intruder apparently got emotional and left with nothing but a glass of wine and some hugs. Michael Rabdau, 51, was enjoying dinner with his family during a get together at a friend's place last month when a hooded man slid in through an open gate and pointed the gun at his teenage daughter demanding money. While everyone froze, one of the guests stood up and offered the man to have a glass of wine with the dining group.

A University of California, Los Angeles student, who was given Paris Hilton's former cell phone number by her wireless company, said she is inundated with late night calls and messages meant for the hotel heiress. The student, Shira Barlow, accidentally dropped her phone in water and when she tried to replace it, her phone company insisted on reassigning her new phone number. In just two days of owning the number, Barlow was flooded with calls and texts pouring in with questions about the parties and other stuff. If this was not enough, many people sent her support messages after Hilton was sentenced to jail May 4.

The obesity epidemic has spread to once slim and trim Japanese men who are using cutting edge technology to battle the bulge. Japanese men have turned to cell phone cameras to help them lose weight by keeping track of how many calories they eat. The scheme is simple. Instead of using a paper and pencil to record what they eat in a day, then look up the calories of that food and add them all up the men just pull out their cell phones and snap a photo of what they are about to stuff in their mouths.

ShatterGARD Inc. , the company behind such descriptive safety products as ShatterGUARD, which protects windows from break-ins and storms, has unveiled its FogSHIELD, taking the company from the "don't break my stuff" industry into the "don't break through to steal my stuff" market. The FogSHIELD will throw down "enough fog to cover 2,000 square feet in less than 15 seconds" to help deter thieves from stealing things like your car or from breaking into office.

In an attempt to prove his love for his wife, a British man from Isle of Wright turned his Land Rover to "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", an all time favorite car model from the 1960's film that goes by the same name. Retail store manager Nick Pointing spent thousands of dollars and four years to make his car into the same model as shown in the movie. Now the couple plan to take a 12-month career break and tour the world with the car raising money for charity.
