A 25-year-old man convicted of stealing hundreds of pairs of underwear is sentenced to one year in jail. Scholfield is accused of stealing three pair of thong underwear from a woman last summer. He allegedly broke into the woman's home while she was out of town and stole what the woman described as "very distinctive-looking" underwear. Scholfield was arrested a short time later after police found the underwear at his residence.

Dutch cheese maker Pieter Wolters has an original idea for selling cheese from his German farm. He plans on creating a very unique football to celebrate the World Cup championship in Germany this summer. "I want to make a round cheese in the colors of a classic football in my cheese factory for sale to soccer fans," says Pieter Wolters.

The Chinese capital is beginning an campaign to stop Beijing's "most serious bad habit;" spitting. In an effort to brighten its image before the 2008 Summer Olympics, officials aren't kidding about fining people for spitting.

Willy the Red River hog has cuddled up to a new mate Nicole, a 16-year-old bongo, the largest member of the forest antelope family. In what officials call one of the oddest pairings at the L. A. Zoo, Willy, at 10-years-old and 187 pounds, shares a muddy zoo exhibit with Nicole, where they nap and cuddle together and sometimes even nuzzle snout to nose.

You'll be embarrassed beyond your wildest imagination. That's what a box of x-rated fortune cookies mistakenly served at a fundraiser for a Brooklyn politician could have read. Instead, the messages were much more inappropriate. The cookies were stuffed with graphic messages that were ordered for a Chinese New Year event. The fundraiser was attended by some 700 guests but only about 80 were still there when the dirty cookies were opened.
