A mayoral candidate in Pulupandan town, Negros Occidental, in central Philippines lost the support of his mother, brother, girlfriend and other relatives for pushing the eviction of residents from land he has been claiming. Magdaleno Peńa's mother, Lina Peńa, and brother, Bonifacio Peńa, voiced their support of Samson Mondia, who is running for mayor of Pulupandan town against Peńa.

Soldiers from Britain's Princes William and Harry's Army regiment are reeling in shock after a thief stole their war medals. The culprit forced open more than 15 lockers at the Household Cavalry's Windsor Comberemere Barracks, escaping with six medals earned by soldiers who bravely fought the Taliban last year.

A Beijing man says his cat, two-year-old Agui, says his own name when he gets scared. The man, Mr. Sun, says he discovered his pet's talent while attempting to give him a bath. According to Star Daily, Sun said, "Last year I was helping him take a bath, and he was scared of the water. After couple of 'miaow's, I heard a clear 'Agui. '"
