A man has sought the assistance of his country's Supreme court after a donkey he was supposed to buy ate his money.
Al Shuruk al Yawmi, an Algerian newspaper published in the town of Tizi Ouzou north of the country, reported the customer and the seller were traditionally bargaining for price for too long and failed to notice the donkey consuming the stack of banknotes meant as a payment for him.
With the incident, the buyer and the seller argued to whom the animal should belong to.
Bringing the issue to the courts proved futile as neither the Tizi Ouzou district court nor the city court were able to make a ruling that would satisfy both parties.
With no resolution n sight, the case was passed on to the Algerian Supreme Court in the hope that it will resolve the bitter dispute.
