(AHN)-Live feeds from hundreds of surveillance cameras situated around the Shoreditch neighborhood of London's East End will be turned into a television channel.

According to CNN, England has been in the throes of a closed-circuit television boom but this is the first time a "CCTV" network has effectively been turned into broadcast television.

There have been protests from privacy advocates. "This is not naming and shaming or spying," says James Morris, CEO of tech-provider Digital Bridge reports CNN.
