A survey by the University of Barcelona shows that surgeons are better looking and taller than other doctors but that they still can't compete with actors playing doctors.

According to the recent survey, women prefer George Clooney playing Dr. Doug Ross on "ER" and Patrick Dempsey as Dr. Derek Shepherd on "Grey's Anatomy" to real-life medical staff members.

According toLife Style Extra, the report, published in the British Medical Journal, reveals that patients prefer going under the knife for surgeons who are handsome to being operated on by ordinary-looking doctors.

It also found that surgeons were more likely to score a hospital romance than physicians who were shorter, less good looking and balder.

Dr. Antoni Trilla, a physician and the director of the University of Barcelona hospital clinic, said the research was inspired by memories of his team's student days.
