A two-carat diamond has been found nearly two years after a man nabbed it from a jewelry store. The catch: the colorless stone which is estimated to be worth $25,000 has been found stuck in the shower drain at the same prison where the man accused of stealing it was serving his sentence. Bret Allen Langford, 39, was arrested in April 2005 for stealing the diamond at a Jewelry Express store. The diamond had never been recovered, until this week, when an investigator representing Langford told jail officials to search the jailhouse drains.

In a continent suffering from a massive AIDS epidemic, the president of the small West African nation of Gambia is taking a more non-conventional approach to tackling the disease. Gambian President Yahya Jammeh, a 41-year old former army colonel seized control of his country in a 1994 coup, says his treatment is effective in combating the deadly AIDS virus.

Manuel Quiroz of Mexico can take a lot of heat. Quiroz can eat a dozen of Mexico's spiciest chilies like it is nothing. Quiroz rubs the chilies on his face and squeezes their juice into his mouth without hesitation. Quiroz is a 54-year-old taxi cab driver and has stated that he has made thousands of dollars with his tolerance for heat and he hopes to become the world champion chili eater.

In a bizarre incident, a Russian drunk driver, who was stopped by police tried to swallow his keys then bit an officer as the official tried to retrieve them. Citing regional traffic spokeswoman Anna Kutonova, RIA-Novosti revealed that the man's Russian-made Moskvich car was stopped overnight near Kemerovo, about 1,850 miles east of Moscow, admitted that he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to the National Geographic, firefighters in a Malaysian village recently had to remove an 18-foot-long python from the roadway. The python had managed to swallow an entire pregnant sheep and was apparently too full to move. Unfortunately the stress of moving the reptile caused it to regurgitate the dead ewe.
