Houma, Louisiana (APN) - They're calling it a "cuculoupe". A Louisiana family had some unusual vegetables sprout up in their home garden recently. The vegetable is about a yard long with waxy skin that's yellow and ridged like a canteloupe. The Dusenbery family planted cucumbers and cantaloupes in rows next to each other and apparently the two vegetables swapped genes.

The clock tower in London's parliament, Big Ben, is once again singing its sweet tune. The melodic quarter-hour chimes that come before the classic 12-ton Big Ben bell have completed their repairs.

The world's largest blackberry is set to go on sale, and no it's not everyone's favorite handheld PDA of choice, but rather, the actual soft fruit itself. Marks and Spencer stores in the UK will sell 'king-sized' blackberries that are about 3-4cm long, and were first discovered in New Zealand. The British retailer predicts that shops nationwide will sell out of the oversized fruit.

Germany's autobahn had to be closed for several hours after a tank trunk overturned, spilling 20,000 liters of sticky, sweet syrup. The semi was carrying about 30,000 liters, or the equivalent of 8,000 gallons, from Mannheim to Frankfort when it attempted to change lanes.

The Iowa City Council has decided that anyone who feeds stray cats are aiding a nuisance and violators could be fined. Mayor Rodney Wagner says police could photograph people who feed stray cats.
