Snorkeler Mistaken For Swimming Rodent Survives Being Shot In Oregon River

A man who was shot in the head while snorkeling in a river is in good condition after surgery to remove bullet fragments. John William Cheeseman was apparently mistaken for a swimming rodent by a hunter. Cheeseman underwent eight hours of surgery to remove shrapnel and bone fragments from his face. His wife said he's doing well. The bullet hit Cheeseman in front of his right ear and did not penetrate the brain.

Shoplifting Suspects Resort To Terrorism In Order To Steal A Toy

In a bid to mask their theft of a toy, four men allegedly triggered a small blast in a Wal-Mart store using swimming pool chemicals. The officers at Henry County Police are shocked at the incident for they say the men perhaps turned a shoplifting misdemeanor into "one of terrorist acts. " Lt. Jason Bolton revealed the incident to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution how the four men entered the Wal-Mart Sunday and after shoplifting a toy, mixed swimming pool chemicals together to create a smoky explosion.

Ralph the Whale Shark Dies in Georgia

Ralph, the popular whale shark at the Georgia Aquarium, has died. Ralph was one of only four whale sharks in the aquarium. His keepers say he was only a teenager and they are unsure about what caused his death. They say shortly before his death, Ralph had not been eating well and had been showing some unusual swimming patterns. He had been at the aquarium since 2005.

Arizona Residents Face Problem Of White Rats In Toilets

The neighbors of the University of Arizona are facing strange problem that includes small white rats that have been swimming through sewer pipes and into their toilets. According to Laura Hagen Fairbanks, spokeswoman for the county's Wastewater Management Department, they are the kind that researchers use in labs.

Italian Police Officer Fired For 'Cross-Dressing'

An Italian police officer has been fired for 'cross-dressing' when not on duty. The officer, identified as a deputy superintendent on an Italian police force, was sacked after he was seen, on several occasions, in the center of Venice wearing a mini-skirt, long earrings and a skimpy T-shirt aimed at showing off his navel, ANSA news agency reported on Friday.
