PETA has announced their results for the 2009 Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities Alive poll. Country star Kellie Pickler and "Heroes" hottie Milo Ventimiglia have won the top honors for the U.S. poll.

For the international poll for women, Portia De Rossi won the award. De Rossi discussed her choice to become a vegan along with wife Ellen DeGeneres, telling PETA, "It feels like such a compassionate choice. We are such animal lovers, why stop short of cows and chickens? It didn't make much sense."

A cow escaped from a New York City slaughterhouse Wednesday, leading police on a 10-block chase. The cow will not be returned for slaughter.

Molly, the cow's nickname, is believed to be less than a year old, the UPI reported.
