Couple Claims Lottery Money With An Hour to Spare

After hearing a June 8 Lotto drawing had a $4.6 million unclaimed prize, a couple decides to check their own stash of lottery tickets.

Richard and Leslie Crosby went through their unchecked tickets and found the winning ticket, verifying it at 11:17 p.m., less than an hour before the prize payout was set to expire.

Swedish Postcard Arrives 50 Years Late

A postcard mailed to a retirement home on the Baltic island of Gotland finally reaches its destination, 50 years after being mailed from the Swedish mainland.

Sent in October 1955, it arrived last month bearing a lottery number. The card, sent to a former employee at the Avallegarden retirement home in Klintehamn, was mailed by a friend in Finspang, some 90 miles away.

Gregg, a 58-year-old Republican from Rye, New Hampshire, announced his lucky win at a news conference on Thursday. The Politician says he usually doesn't play the lottery, but was intrigued by the huge jackpot and dropped $20 worth of numbers at a gas station in Washington, D.C.
