A fire alarm system that accidentally set off 'saved' the life of a 20-year-old Korean student in northern Philippines in her suicide bid after flunking in class. Police reports said the student, a first-year student taking up Bachelor of Arts at a university in Baguio City, became upset when she failed a course.
Convicted Wife Killer Ends Life In Double Murder-Suicide
An Illinois man, who served time in prison for killing his wife in 1985, has shot to death his second wife and her son before shooting himself, Wilmette police said Tuesday. Investigators said Richard Wiley, 54, used a Civil War muzzle-loading long gun to shoot his wife Kathryn Wiley-Motes, 50, and her son Christopher Motes, 17, on Saturday before shooting himself on Sunday. The bodies were found at their home in Greenleaf Avenue Monday by police.
'Final Exit' Suicide Group Members Arrested, Charged With Assisting Suicide
Georgia and Maryland authorities have arrested and charged three assisted suicide group members who allegedly helped a man kill himself last year.Another member of the Final Exit Network was charged but remains at large. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) on Wednesday arrested Final Exit Network president Thomas E. Goodwin, 63, of Punta Gorda, Florida and Kennesaw, Georgia after a sting operation at a Dawson County home.
Three Texas Schools In Lockdown Before Suicidal Dad Could Say Goodbye To Student
Three Cypress-Fairbanks schools locked down on Monday before a man intending to kill himself could visit one of the schools to say goodbye to his daughter. The Arnold Middle School, where the father's daughter is studying, and nearby Cy-Fair High School and Lamkin Elementary School closed at 10 a.m. to prevent the man from entering.
Online Chatter Thwarts Suicide Attempt On Web
A man from New Jersey has foiled an attempt by an 18-year-old online chatter from California to take his own life and alerted police, who located him with minor injury. The unnamed teen from Sacramento was brought to a hospital Tuesday to treat razor cuts in his forearm after local police located him using only his name and cell phone number given to them by Jesse Coltrane, 21, of Camden.
