Giant Lobster Takes Over US1 In The Florida Keys

The infamous giant lobster of Plantation Key used U.S. 1 as a route to her new home Friday morning in the Florida Keys. Betsey, a rather large lobster at three-stories tall, has made a new home in front of the Rain Barrel Artisan Village shopping complex at U.S. 1 mile marker 86.7.

Made from fiberglass and metal, Betsey is a detailed, biologically accurate sculpture of a female spiny lobster. She moved to her new home after her old perch, a former shopping complex, was converted to a school, the Florida Keys Keynoter reported.

Hells Angels Biker Killed In Australian Airport Brawl

A member of Hells Angels in Australia was killed Saturday afternoon during a 10-man brawl involving bikers of his group and members of a rival motorcycle gang inside the Sydney Airport.

Police arrested four men involved in the melee that killed an unnamed 29-year-old man from southwestern Sydney. The man died in a hospital after his head was repeatedly smashed with metal posts by men of the Comanchero club, according to police.

Space Station May Dodge Satellite Debris

NASA engineers on Monday are figuring out if the International Space Station (ISS) should maneuver to avoid getting hit by a debris or piece of a Soviet Union-era satellite.

The piece of the Russian Kosmos 1275 will pass about half a mile from the space station at 2:14 a.m. CDT (7:14 a.m. GMT) Tuesday, said Bill Jeffs, a spokesman at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas, according to CNN.

American Airlines Flight Drops Metal Shards Across Queens Before Making Emergency Landing At New York's JFK Airport

An American Airlines plane that had to make an emergency landing at Kennedy Airport shortly after taking off from La Guardia Airport after engine failure Wednesday dropped shards of metal onto houses, businesses and elsewhere in Queens, NY.

AA flight 309 bound for Chicago dropped pieces of metal across several acres in Queens shortly after taking off from La Guardia at 8:15 a.m.

Price Of Gold Soars To $977.7 An Ounce

The automotive, housing and retail sectors in the U.S. are suffering record-high losses with plunging sales and income figures. In contrast, gold is selling briskly, with sales 10 times the amount sold 12 months ago, according to Arthur Blumenthal of Stack's, a Manhattan bullion and coin dealer.

In October, right after the global economic crisis broke, gold was selling at $713 an ounce. Since then, the price of gold has climbed to $977.70 per ounce.
