Hairspray Bacteria, No-Buzz Coffee Bean Among Top New Species
A bacteria that lives in hairspray and a coffee bean without caffeine are among the top 10 new species revealed Friday by researchers at Arizona State University. The plants, bugs and other creatures are among the 18,516 species discovered in 2007 and reported in the "Status of Observed Species."

Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison will pass on the opportunity to meet and visit with President Obama, which players on championship winning teams usually look forward to doing. Harrison's rationale for not going with his teammates to the White House on their scheduled visit Thursday is: "If you want to see the Pittsburgh Steelers, invite us when we don't win the Super Bowl," he told Pittsburgh's WTAE-TV. "So as far as I'm concerned he would have invited Arizona if they had won."
Arizona Firm To Grow Mustard Seeds On Moon
A Tucson, Arizona-based firm is planning to grow mustard seeds on the lunar surface to know if plants can thrive on the moon. Paragon Space Development Corp. founder and president Taber MacCallum told ABC News the mustard seeds contained inside a toaster-size transparent cylinder will be brought to the moon by another firm, Odyssey Moon Ltd., which is joining a Google-sponsored race for the first private company to land a robot on the moon.
Immigrants More Likely To Start Business Than Native-Born Americans
Immigrants in the U.S. are more daring to start a business compared to native born Americans, according to the Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity released recently. The updated figures confirms previous study's findings that immigrants were more likely to open a business measured by their entrepreneurial activity rate which increased to 0.46 percent among immigrants in 2007 from 0.37 percent in 2006.
Plane Make Emergency Landing To Remove Unruly Passenger
A Southwest Airlines flight from Phoenix, Arizona to Detroit, Michigan made an emergency landing at the Denver International Airport Saturday to remove a woman who became unruly and attacked passengers and crew. Fellow passengers told Detroit television station Local 4 that the woman was waiting in line to use the rest room when a man accidentally bumped into her. She began hitting the man and yelling at him. A few passengers got out of their seats to aid the man, but the woman then turned her anger toward a flight attendant and began attacking her.
