Councilman James S. Oddo of Staten Island, New York has proposed a plan to put pigeons on contraceptives, to counter the growing number of the pigeon population at the Island terminals.

The contraceptive will be seen as a solution for the growing concern regarding pigeon droppings, and maggots falling from ceiling, after feeding on pigeon feces.

A 68-year-old man from Pennsylvania says he is quite lucky after he survived his second lightning strike on Friday, nearly 27 years after lighting first struck him.

Don Frick and his six other people were attending Hamlin's Ole Tyme Daz festival on Friday afternoon when the incident took place. After a sudden storm, all of them decide to take shelter in a shed shortly before lightning struck the ground nearby.

Britain's Unluckiest Man Falls In Manhole

John Lyne, who is acclaimed as the "unluckiest" man in Britain, is again in the hospital, this time after falling into a manhole. The 54-year-old man has already had 16 major accidents including two lightning strikes, a rock-fall in a mine, nearly drowning and three car crashes.

Lyne, of Stainforth, near Doncaster, Yorkshire is expected to spend 32 weeks to recuperate from his latest misfortune.

Five people were killed and eight others injured on Tuesday when thunderbolts struck them in different villages in the Tangail and Sherpur districts in Bangladesh.

The BDNEWS, a local news agency, reported that Monwar Hossain (14), Jahangir Alam (15) and Ehsanul Haque (14) were killed by lightning at Kalihati, Dhulutia and Amjani villages under Gopalpur upazila in Tangail district.
