Out for a day of spear fishing and lobster diving, Michael Powers and his friends received a surprise visit when a five and a half foot bull shark jumped into his 21 foot boat on Saturday. The shark leapt out of the water and landed in the fishing boat, proceeding to flop around violently until eventually injuring itself.

Feds Bust $40 Million Mortgage Fraud Ring, Charge 41 Defendants In South Florida
U.S. District Attorney Jeffrey Sloman has unveiled a massive, multi-agency bust of 41 people after authorities broke up a mortgage fraud ring in South Florida. The 41 defendants include bankers, appraisers, mortgage brokers, title agents, real estate agents, and straw buyers. They span six separate cases and are alleged to have committed over $40 million in fraud. The joint federal and state task force was the result of hard work by the U.S. Department of Justice, Secret Service, U.S. Postal Service (USPS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC), Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other agencies.
Florida Radio Station Employees Find Out Health Care Plan Is Missing The Hard Way
An estimated 30 employees at two Florida-based radio stations have unwittingly gone without health insurance for two months, according to an internal memo. Employees at stations WFTL-640 AM and WFTL-850 AM found out they haven't been covered after the insurance company started refusing claims. Station owner, James Crystal Radio, Inc., hasn't paid the premiums and as a result, the insurance plan stopped paying out. Now, in a message to employees, company owner Richard Hindes admits they have paid up, and employees should be covered soon.
Invasive Pythons Wreaking Havoc In Florida
Pythons have become a major problem in Florida where one suffocated a sleeping baby to death in her crib and thousands others prowl the Everglades, and nearby towns, threatening endangered species and pets alike. One python was found in Everglades National Park with a half-swallowed alligator protruding from its mouth.
