Thai Prime Minister Receives Rain Of Shoes, Water Containers
Shoes and water bottles rained on Thai Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat on Wednesday as he visited the Information Ministry. The angry throwers were about 200 government employees who were critical of Somchai for his perceived closeness to former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinwatra, sentenced on Tuesday for two years because of violation of the country's corruption law. Thaksin is Somchai's brother-in-law.

At least one passenger was killed and more than 40 injured when a luxury cruise ship was swamped by mountainous seas as sub-tropical storm hit New Zealand. Metservice forecast that the heavy storm will hit the North Island's western and north parts as residents were asked to evacuate their homes.
Two Bodies Recovered From Saturday's Lake Lanier Boating Accident
Two people drowned following a boating accident on Lake Lanier on Saturday night. The bodies were recovered on Sunday morning from a depth of 10 feet, near the boat docks of Port Royale in the Forsyth County. Lung Mang, 21 and Tha Thang, 23 went missing on Sunday after their boat wrecked on the lake.
Father Finds Son, Missing For 6 Weeks In Amazon Rainforest, Son Dies In Father's Arms
An 18-year-old boy found by his father after being lost in the Amazon rain forest for six weeks died in his father's arms moments later. Jonathan dos Santos Alves went missing after becoming separated from friends. One report said the boys were hunting, another said they were looking for waterfalls while camping on May 11, the last day they saw their friend alive.
Sun Worshipers Gather At Stonehenge On Summer Solstice
An estimated crowd of 30,000 revelers welcomed the summer solstice at the megalithic Stonehenge ruins in Salisbury Plain at dawn Saturday. Rain and mist did not deter throngs from welcoming the sun rise above the ancient monument, one of Britain's national icons, on the longest day of the year.
