Instead of marshmallows with hot cocoa, firefighters topped 43,000 pounds of burning cocoa with foam and water as they battled the blaze on the highway where a tractor trailer had overturned, spilling its load of cocoa, which then caught fire.
Firefighters worked knee deep in the piles of smoldering powdered cocoa, hosing it with foam and water that sent some of it airborne as a reddish-brown cloud, while much of the cocoa turned into a thick, brown sludge.
