Ohio Family Having Financial Struggles Dead In Murder-Suicide
A family of four that had been having financial struggles was found dead of an apparent murder-suicide with a suicide note inside their one-story home. Police found Mark Meeks, 51, his wife, Jennifer Dallas-Meeks, 40 and their daughter Abbigail, 8, and son Jimmy, 5, shot to death in the family home after concerned relatives called and asked police to check on the family.
LA Man Kills Self, Family Over Job Situtation
A California man who was apparently distraught about his job situation killed his wife and five children before committing suicide in his Los Angeles home, police said. Officers in Los Angeles discovered the bodies of a man, woman, 8-year-old girl, two 5-year-old twin girls and two 2-year-old twin boys.
Investment Adviser Who Allegedly Faked Own Death Charged For Plane Crash
Marcus Schrenker, the investment adviser who allegedly faked his death, was charged by a Florida court on Wednesday for intentionally crashing his plane. He still faces securities fraud charges in Indiana. Schrenker, who owns three Indiana companies, was charged with making a false distress call and willfully wrecking his plane. No date has been set for his court appearance, but he will face the Florida charges first. Those charges carry a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
Canadian Woman Survives Family Suicide Attempt; Husband, 3 Children Dead
Residents of a quiet Quebec town woke up Sunday to the grim news of a family suicide attempt, which claimed the lives of the 46-year old husband and his three children. The 36-year old wife survived the attempt and is confined at the Chicoutimi hospital under policy custody. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police identified the couple as Marc Laliberte and Cathy Gauthier-Lachance. Their children, who died by poisoning or suffocation, were identified as 12-year old Joelle, 7-year old Marc-Ange and 4-year old Louis-Philippe. The couple had knife wounds.
Actor Mistakes Real Knife For Prop, Unwittingly Slits Throat On Stage
Actor Daniel Hoevels accidentally slit his neck onstage after he mistook a real knife for a prop at the Burgtheater in Austria. Hoevels, 30, unwittingly grabbed a real blade instead of a harmless prop during his performance as a character who commits suicide. The audience was unaware that the blood spurting from his neck was real and that the actor wasn't acting anymore.
