Australian Prime Minister Finds Out Three Of His Ancestors Were Thieves
The bones in Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd's closets were bared in a genealogy made by Mormons. The two books written by the Church of the Latter Day Saints disclosed that three of Rudd's ancestors were thieves. The Mormons presented the two volumes to the prime minister Thursday morning, confirming his roots as a "true Aussie pedigree."
Survey: London Is The Most Expensive City To Park A Car
A survey conducted by property firm Colliers International revealed that the City of London is the world's most expensive place to park a car, reports the Financial Times. Colliers said that parking in Central, London's financial district, averages $1,167 monthly or $68 a day compared with New York's Midtown area, which is at $585 a month, and Tokyo at $552. After Central, the next most expensive parking is still in London in the West End area at $1,136 a month.
21-Foot Great White Shark Spotted In Popular Australian Lake
A small seaside community is for a 21 ft. great white shark swimming in the local lake. A fisherman netted the shark in Tuggerah Lake, which opens to the Pacific Ocean 60 miles north of Sydney, but when he realized the shark was bigger than his 18-foot boat he let it go.
Picasso's 'Sylvette' Sells For $6.9M In Sydney Auction
A 1954 masterpiece from Pablo Picasso broke auction records in Australia when it sold for $6.9 million. "Sylvette 1954" was auctioned off at Deutscher-Menzies Galleries in Kensington on Wednesday. Gallery art head Tim Abdullah had predicted the painting would fetch between $5 and $ 7 million.
Golf Balls From Inside Snake Sell For $1,253
Golf balls swallowed by and extracted from a snake were placed for sale on eBay, with the highest bid totalling $1,401 Australian, or $1,253 US. The four balls which were taken from inside a carpet python at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary last week were posted for sale on the online auction, still unwashed. The winner will also receive X-rays and photographs of Augusta, the python, with the balls still inside, and after the balls were taken out by surgery.
