Two Spanish chemists have found that U.S. dollar bills contained the highest traces of cocaine powder, indicating the popularity of the illegal drug.

The study by Sergio Armenta and Miguel de la Guardia from the University of Valencia published in the latest issue of the journal Trends in Analytical Chemistry also found that Spanish euro notes are the most contaminated with the drug among European currencies.

Three men were apprehended by police officers in San Antonio after attempting to steal cases of beer and iced tea from a local convenience store. According to police reports, at about 3 a.m. the three men entered an EZ Mart and tried to make off with three 18-packs of beer and four cases of iced tea.

Local television station KSAT said that the men then entered their getaway car, which they backed up into a police patrol car.

A Cornish man claimed to have kept awake for 11 days straight in an attempt to better the Guinness record for sleep deprivation.

The 42-year-old horticulturist, Tony Wright had begun his "stay awake" program on May 14 as part of his research on relationship between physical state and sleep. He had undertaken similar experiments in the past but for lesser durations.
