Kickball Grows In Seattle As New Teams Play This Summer

This summer, adult amateur kickball leagues are being founded around Seattle at a surprising rate. Thanks to the efforts of the Underdog Sports League, kickball teams have grown from 70 teams in 2005 to 200 this year.

Let's face it: the Supersonics are gone, the Mariners are horrible and the Seahawks won't be starting until the kids are back in school. At this point... Seattle sports fans just want to kick something.

Seattle Flushes Plans For Self-Cleaning Toilets

The city of Seattle has abandoned a $5 million experiment with self-cleaning public toilets after the facilities were identified as "crime magnets" above all else.

A total of five toilet units are currently installed around the city, and each one was ordered to be shut down by July 1. Each unit had a pair of automated silver doors that opened and closed by themselves. The interior was automatically cleaned between uses.

Yakima Airport Security Finds "Training" Grenades In Luggage

Authorities at Yakima airport in Washington evacuated the terminal and temporarily closed the airport Sunday when they found two training grenades inside a passenger's travel bag. However, mo one was hurt from the incident.

About 35 people inside the terminal were evacuated before bomb experts from the U.S. Army called in by police arrived to defuse the bomb, which contained no explosives.

Cancer Patient Thrown Out Of Court Room For Wearing A Hat

A cancer patient was brought to tears when she was thrown out of a courtroom Friday for refusing to remove her hat.

District Court judge Holly Hollenbeck told Bev Williams, 43, to remove the knitted beanie she was wearing, or exit his court in the Benton County Justice Center.

Man Uses Dummy To Drive On Carpool Lane

Authorities arrested a man for driving with a dummy disguised as a man in order to drive in the carpool lane.

The unnamed driver had placed the dummy at the backseat, and was pulled over by state patrol when the mannequin slumped forward and could not be seen by authorities.
