Husband Shoots Wife For Not Renewing His Driving License

A 42-year-old woman narrowly escaped her husband's wrath after he shot at her with .22-calibre rifle when she failed to renew his driver's license.

Gary Alan Hemsted, a truck driver, has now been sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting his wife, Lisa, in 2005. Hemsted pleaded no contest earlier this month to attempted voluntary manslaughter, using a firearm and causing great bodily injury in the wounding of his wife.

The police had an easy time finding a suspect involved in the theft of handguns from a Wasilla home when the woman whose home was burglarized found the suspect in her home's garage, wearing her sweatshirt.

Lisa Siepert, 38 on Sunday called the police to report that a stranger broke into her home and removed two handguns, food and alcohol. Upon searching the garage, she found an unknown man sitting inside her neighbor's vehicle.
