Man Cycles Backward For Humanitarian Causes
In an attempt to raise awareness for HIV, homelessness, and in support for the medical use of marijuana, a man has been traveling across the United States on his bike, all the while pedaling backwards. Starting last August in California, 36-year old cyclist Curan Wright has been cycling backwards through different states, with his navigation based solely on his peripheral vision.
Nepalese Women Send Condoms To Husbands Working Overseas
Nepalese women have been telling their husbands working overseas to abstain from sex with other women so they will not contract sexually transmitted diseases. However, in case their husbands cannot control their sexual urges, women in Pang village in the Midwestern mountains of Nepal, have been sending their partners with condoms via mail. Their motto was, if you can't control it, at least be safe.
India Court Grants Divorce On Grounds Of HIV
A local court in India has granted an application of a husband for divorce based on the ground that his wife is HIV positive. The judgment was handed down district judge Rajnish Bhatnagar, who said marriage without sex is "anathema." He said in his judgment, "The disease being sexually communicable, the petitioner cannot be reasonably expected to live with her and lead a happy married life."
Thais Rush To Condom Test
Some 1,000 amorous Thais volunteered to test condoms for customer satisfaction Wednesday. At least 500 positions were available as part of a campaign to promote safe sex in the region. According to Durex, a Thai marketing firm for condoms, "We are surprised to see huge interest in our campaign with almost 1,000 applicants wanting to take part."

nstead of your traditional chocolates or flowers, New York City officials decided to celebrate this year's Valentine's Day by handing out free condoms to city residents. Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose health department's condom program already distributes 1.5 million free condoms each month, hopes the city's special Valentine's Day efforts will help encourage people to engage in safe-sex practices during the holiday and beyond.
