Ten Children Drink Windshield Wiper Fluid At Arkansas Daycare

An Arkansas daycare owner has voluntarily shut down her business after 10 children drank windshield wiper fluid thinking it was a sugary drink at her facility.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reported that the woman, Carolyn Bynum, was helping a worker unload groceries and placed the bottle of windshield wiper fluid in the refrigerator Thursday. She poured the children cups of the liquid thinking it was Kool-Aid.

Scotland To Fix Alcohol Price, Ends Promos In A Bid To Curb Drinking

To curb the growing menace of alcoholism in Scotland, ministers are proposing fixing the prices of alcoholic drinks and prohibiting drink promotions.

If the proposal is pushed through, Scotland will be the first nation in Europe to fix prices of alcohol. The ban was first proposed in 2008 despite protests from opposition parties, student groups, alcohol manufacturers and retailers.

Suspicions of insider fraud in lottery winnings may result in a ban on betting among retailers, employees and relatives of those who work in lottery-related jobs.

The suspicion was aroused after an audit on the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation showed that in the past 13 years OLG staff and their families won $198 million. The astronomical figure is double the amount originally projected by the gaming board, according to Andre Marin of Deloitte & Touche.

An Australian court has charged a 44-year-old woman with murder after allegedly setting the genitals of her husband on fire in a fit of jealousy.

The Adelaide Magistrates Court initially charged Rajini Narayan with endangering life and arson, but the charges were upgraded to murder after her husband, 47-year-old Satish Narayan, died last week from his burns.
