Subprime Crisis Leaves Thousands Of Pets Homeless

While there was an unexpected uptick in the February sales of existing homes at 2.9 percent, home foreclosure filings across the U.S. grew by 60 percent and bank seizures more than doubled for the second month of the year. Aside from Americans struggling with the economy, the subprime crisis also hit a vulnerable sector who could do nothing about losing their roof, except whimper.

Homeowners and their pets are being separated by escalating incidents of home foreclosures across America. According to USA Today, thousands of pets are being sent to animal shelters although no exact figures are available due to the lack of accounting standards for recording pets affected by foreclosures.

Homeless Chef Lived In London Airport For Three Years

A homeless chef, 43-year-old Anthony Delaney, made Gatwick Airport his home for over three years. Delaney only left West Sussex airport to collect his jobseeker's allowance but kept on going back even when he was banned from the premises. He was remanded in custody to be sentenced on March 10.

Despite his weird behavior, the court said Delaney did not suffer from mental health issues, nor was he a drug user or an alcoholic. According to him, the airport makes him "clean, dry and warm."

Man Cycles Backward For Humanitarian Causes

In an attempt to raise awareness for HIV, homelessness, and in support for the medical use of marijuana, a man has been traveling across the United States on his bike, all the while pedaling backwards.

Starting last August in California, 36-year old cyclist Curan Wright has been cycling backwards through different states, with his navigation based solely on his peripheral vision.

Homeless Man Accused Of Chainsaw Attack

A homeless man was arrested after allegedly attacking four people with a chainsaw. The incident was said to have taken place at a local homeless shelter near the Jefferson City area.

The suspect was Matthew Watkins, 28, who was said to have injured the victims Saturday, while he was participating in a training program being offered at the Rev. Larry Rice's Mid-American Care Center.

Man Steals from Funeral Collection Money After Offering Condolences

Police are currently searching for a man who allegedly walked in on a funeral, offered condolences to the departed's family, and then left - but not without making off with the funeral's collection bag.

Attendees of the funeral of 30-year old ironworker David Rabun told police that no one in David's family recognized the person, who according to Rabun's mother Sandra Alton, went up to the microphone and said he wanted to express his condolences, even though he did not work with David.
