Goalie To Swap With Gas Pipeline
The mayor of the western town of Lupeni in Romania is offering the top player of his second division football team in exchange for a gas pipeline, ananova.com reports. The report said that mayor Cornel Rasmerita, who is also the head of the Minerul football team disclosed that he is willing to sell his key goalkeeper Christian Belgradean to first division team Jiul for something his town needs.
Man Throws 60-Pound Pig At Hotel Counter
Kevin Pugh of Cedar Bluff might have not thought of what a prank could cost him, and that too if the prank involved a 60 pound pig. The 20-year-old has been fined $279 for tossing a pig over the counter at the Holiday Inn Express in West Point and faces charges in the city court. According to West Point Police Lt. Danny McCaskill, the incident happened on Nov. 12 when walked into the hotel and threw the 60-pound pig over the counter.
Menagerie Of 86 Animals Found In Home
A menagerie numbering to 86 animals was discovered by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals officials in a Fort Ord home. The owner had been trying to find homes for the 56 fish, six cats, six rats, five frogs, four geckos, three ferrets, two lovebirds, two lizards, one guinea pig and one dog. "We took our van. We really didn't know what we were getting into," said Judi Adams, humane investigation supervisor for the SPCA of Monterey County.
Pig Withstands Taser Shots, Cops On U.S. 41
Green Bay, WI (AHN)- Green Bay Police Lt. Todd LePine said a pig withstood taser shots from police officers and eluded authorities for more than an hour after wandering onto Green Bay's major highway. The 150-pound pig was reportedly spotted by a passing driver on U.S. 41 at 6 p.m. Wednesday night, and went into traffic several times, creating a hazard. LePine said officers located the pig about 7 p.m. and made two attempts to subdue it with a stun gun, but it fled both times after pulling out the Taser probes.
