Tanyarat Jirapatpakon went home with the Miss International Queen 2007 crown, beating 23 other stunning hopefuls.

Palmira, a 12-year-old male was chosen Sunday as the best and finest Arab thoroughbred. The announcement was made during the 29th annual National Show of Arabian Horses in the popular Janow Ppodlaski stud-farm in southern Poland.

Reports said the annual show also attracted 32 mares and two stallions that were put on sale in this year's main auction, "the Pride of Poland." Some 16 other horses were auctioned off Sunday morning in a silent sale, organizers of the event said.

A pharmacy worker in Brazil has got yet another reason to remember her wedding day. The 32-year-old woman luckily escaped a close range gunshot after she raised her hands and the bullet aimed at her head got detoured by the wedding ring in her finger.

According to local media reports, the woman was working in a pharmacy in Monte Alegre, in the north-eastern state of Sergpipe, when an armed robber approached her and fired a shot at her.

A 52-year-old housewife from Brazil first stabbed her husband, then chopped off his dead body into small pieces to boil and fry it before hiding it into plastic bags in her house. A 15-member jury found Rosanita Nery dos Santos guilty of killing retired police officer Jose Raimundo Soares dos Santos.

The accident took place on June 23, 2005 in Vila Sao Cosme, a lower middle-class neighborhood in the Bahia state capital of Salvador, 930 miles northeast of Sao Paulo. The matter came into picture when police received an anonymous phone call saying that the woman has hid body parts in her house.
