Oldest Mom To Give Birth Dies From Cancer

The oldest mother to give birth at age 66 three years ago has died from cancer leaving her twin boys orphaned.

Spanish Carmen Bousada died from cancer on Saturday, her brother told a local newspaper. The cancer was detected after she gave birth to Christian and Pau in Barcelona in December 2006 and the disease worsened because of the fertility drugs she took to conceive.

A man believed to have been drunk led police on a chase through Interstate 805, stopping only after he crashed into the office of U.S. Rep. Bob Filner (D-CA).

Chula Vista police began chasing a silver truck driven by an unidentified man at about 1:30 am on Sunday on Route 54, according to reports. An officer had tried to stop the truck for speeding, but the driver headed toward Interstate 805 and exited at Bonita Road. Police were briefly able to stop the truck, which was going in speeds of up to 110 miles per hour, with a spike strip.

Air-Powered Batteries In Development With IBM

PC maker IBM is holding a meeting with researchers at its laboratory in San Jose, California in August to discuss the development of a battery powered by air or oxygen as it bids to become a major player in the electric vehicle market.

The meeting at the Almaden Research Center on Aug. 26 to 27 will assemble experts from nanotechnologists to chemists who will look into the promising alternative to lithium-ion batteries.
