States Take Aim At Sex Offenders Who Want To Become Ice Cream Vendors
On a hot summer the ice cream vendor is the modern Pied Piper of Hamelin and various states are not about to let sex offenders use the trade as their way to lure children. Several states are now working on bans against allowing sex offenders. The San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors in California, as one example, is planning to draft an ordinance that would prohibit convicted sex predators from driving ice cream trucks after one was found last summer in Perris.

An Oregon town mayor has been kicked out from her post after posing on a fire truck in her black bra and underwear. According to city officials, Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist narrowly lost in Monday's recall election, 142-139, in a town with 500 registered voters. The recall is effective Tuesday.

A 7-year old boy announced his plans to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, after watching a news feature of a man who attempted to do the same, but failed. With his gear gathered, he is setting to scale the mountain for approximately five months, with the help of his father. Keats Boyd insisted on his aim, wanting to be "the youngest climber to ever reach the summit."
