March 28 Is Serfs Emancipation Day In Tibet

The Tibetan Autonomous Regional People's Congress declared on Tuesday March 28 every year as Serfs Emancipation Day, which will be observed as a national holiday in Tibet. It was the day the Dalai Lama was defeated.

It was on March 28, 1959 that the Chinese Communist Party abolished the old Tibetan government and created the Tibet Autonomous Region.

Over 40 websites are using President-elect Barack Obama's historical inauguration to lure visitors into downloading malware and hijacking their computers, according to Panda Security.

Scammers use websites that claim the president-elect has resigned and post fake news articles with headlines like "Barack Obama has refused to be a President." However, "opening the articles will result in user computers being infected and turned into zombies remotely controlled by cyber-criminals," Panda warns.

International Naval Force Rescues Chinese Vessel From Pirates

An international naval force has prevented the hijacking of a Chinese vessel in the Gulf of Aden by driving away pirates with helicopter gunfire.

All 30 crew members of the MV Zhen Hua-4 owned by the China Communications Construction Co. were not harmed during Tuesday's hijacking attempt as they locked themselves inside cabins and from there radioed for help. The 10 pirates fled uninjured.

More Than 30 Children Killed In Nigeria By Counterfeit Medicine

More than 30 children in Nigeria have recently died after being given the medication "My Pikin" that contained the toxic chemical diethylene glycol.

After a large number of children who had been given the medicine died, Nigeria's Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) tested the medicine and discovered it contained almost 90ml of the poison diethylene glycol per 100ml.
