Students Use Wigs And Shirts To Cheat On College Entrance Exams In Vietnam

Feeling the pressure to do well on their college entrance exams, over 20 students in Vietnam paid up to 50 million dong ($3,125) for wigs and shirts wired to help them cheat, police said Monday.

As a result of Hanoi police raids over the weekend, 50 mobile phones, 60 earphones, 150 SIM cards, eight shirts and five wigs were confiscated, according to an officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the media.

"Big Red One" Leaves Germany

The U.S. Army's 1st Infantry Division, often called the "Big Red One," will leave its host country of Germany at Victory Park on Leighton Barracks.

The Big Red One will return to the United States and officially make camp at Fort Riley, Kansas, on August 1. The move to Kansas means the division will help train foreign security forces in support of operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

Skipping Karaoke Leads To Self Criticisms

Apparently, karaoke is seen more in Vietnam than just a recreational thing.

According to Vietnamese newspaper, Tien Phong, 21 officials from Petrovietnam's financial arm PVFC are expected to write "self criticisms" for not participating in karaoke on Saturday night.

Vietnam's state oil monopoly Petrovietnam's financial arm PVFC ordered 21 officials to make "self-criticism" reports for not singing karaoke at a contract-signing ceremony near Hanoi on Saturday.

Tien Phong (Pioneer) newspaper reported on Wednesday that at least eight department heads were facing suspension.

A Danish prince has incensed animal rights activists by saying he loves dogs - delicately sliced and lightly fried.

Prince Henrik of Denmark reportedly told a magazine: "Dog meat tastes like rabbit. Like dried baby goat. Or perhaps - I know! - like veal. Like the veal of a baby suckling calf, only drier."
