Canada Revenue Agency Paid $3 Million To Ex-Employees By Mistake

An audit on the Canada Revenue Agency has revealed that it issued at least $3 million in salaries to employees who no loner work for the agency.

The CRA has been making the erroneous payments since 1999, with the number of involved former employees going up over the years. In fiscal 2005-06, there were 1,922 ex-workers who continued enjoying the salaries even if they were no longer officially connected. In fiscal 2006-07, their number went up to 2,258.
