A father sold the hard-to-find video game "Guitar Hero III he bought for his son for $90 as a Christmas present at an online auction for a whopping $9,000 after he caught his 15-year-old teenage son smoking marijuana. The sale occurred after the father searched for the video game for the Nintendo WII game board. The father spent two weeks searching for the video game as a Christmas present for his boy.
One-House Texas Town Sells On Ebay For $3.8m
A small town in Texas now has a new international owner. Someone in Italy placed the winning bid on eBay for the town of Albert, Texas. The bid, for $3.8 million, still has to be authenticated. Real estate sold on eBay does not have contractual obligations.
Chestnut From Anne Frank's Tree Posted On eBay
A chestnut from the tree that diarist Anne Frank hid in to escape the Nazis is being put up for sale on eBay. The idea was that of Charles Kujiper, who lives next door to the immortalized house where Anne Frank hid from Nazi German occupiers. "I had this idea for a few years, and I decided to put the chestnut up for auction," Kukiper said.
One-Sided Ten-Pound Notes Sell For $528 On eBay
A series of ten-pound notes with blank print on the reverse are selling for $528 on eBay. According to a local paper, the Bank of England accidentally circulated up to 40 of the one-sided notes, although it clarifies the notes are still considered as legal tender.
South Beach Synagogue Seats Auctioned On Ebay For $1.8 Million
Two Jewish congregants who work in advertising and marketing came out with an idea to auction on EBay two lifetime front-row seats to services at a synagogue in time for the Jewish high holidays. The initial bidding starts at $1.8 million. The winning bidder will have the privilege of getting up front with the rabbi. Their family name will be engraved on Seats 1 and 2 of Row 1, Section DD, at Temple Emanu-El. In addition to that, the winning bidder will get two free parking slots, two custom-made prayer shawls and yarmulkes and a big tax write-off. Also, the lucky winner can pass the seats on to his or her children and grandchildren.
