Indian Firm To Begin Selling World's Cheapest Car
Indian carmaker Tata Motors Ltd. (TML) on Monday announced it will start selling the world's cheapest car called Nano next month in India. The basic Nano model will sell for a pre-tax price of $1,979 or 100,000 rupees or $2,200 after tax and dealer cost. It is 10 feet long, has four doors, can seat five people and is powered by a 33 brake horsepower and 624 cc rear engine. The small car has no airbags, air conditioning, radio, or power steering but meets India's road safety standards, TML officials said.
Melee Breaks Out At 'America's Next Top Model' Audition, Injuring 6
Six people were slightly injured Saturday when a melee broke out during the audition for the reality TV show America's Next Top Model at a Manhattan hotel in New York City. Police arrested two women and a man for unruly behavior and for picking fights. The police did not say if the three are among the thousands of aspiring models lined up at 210 West 55th Street waiting for their turn to audition inside the Park Central Hotel.
Kiddie TV Show's One-Armed Host Stirring Debate in UK
The host of a children's television show has stirred extensive debate here over the place of the disabled in British society. Cerrie Burnell became a co-host of "CBeebies" on BBC Television in January. The 29-year-old actress was born with one arm and makes no attempt to conceal it, a fact that has alarmed some parents, who say Burnell's disability scares their children.

While millions of tech savvy surfers could enjoy watching television shows over their computer screens via streaming, not many TV owners could surf on their sets. Manufacturers are now trying the TV-Internet combination by including Internet connectivity as a standard feature of future television sets. Doctors Cut Hands, Feet Of Model With Septicemia
A Brazilian beauty queen and model is still fighting for her life at a hospital in Brazil even after doctors had amputated her hands and feet to save her from a severe blood infection. Miss World finalist Mariana Bridi da Costa, 20, remains on a ventilation machine after being infected with the life-threatening septicemia on Dec. 30, according to her boyfriend, Thiago Simoes.
