Pyramid Twice The Height Of The Empire State Building To Rise In Germany As Global Mausoleum

Egypt's famed pyramids will have a European version soon in Germany's Saxony-Anhalt region as the country plans to build the large pyramid to serve as a global mausoleum.

The planned structure will be located at vast fields in eastern Germany, particularly in the city of Dessau. It will have a height twice the Empire State Building in New York, where each stone will have an urn. Reservations could be made online. If there will be low reservations, the pyramid's height could be reduced.

Aaron Spelling's Widow Moves To Condo, Reflecting Housing Downturn

The pending transfer of the widow of television producer Aaron Spelling to a condo unit from a mansion reflects the downturn of the American economy and the real estate market.

Candy Spelling, when Aaron was still alive, lived with her husband for almost two decades in a 56,500-square foot French chateau-style mansion which had a wine-tasting room, bowling lanes and silver, china and gift-wrapping rooms. Aaron was the man behind hit TV series like "Charlie's Angels" and "Seventh Heaven."

Air Rage Incidents Spike Among Drunk British Fliers

Data from the United Kingdom's Civil Aviation Authority showed that air rage incidents among British passengers have tripled over the past five years. Pilots blamed the rise on plane delays which led bored and angry passengers to take up drinking as a way to pass the time, leading to inflight fights.

From January to March, the CAA recorded 601 air rage incidents, up by 32 percent from 458 cases logged for the first quarter of 2007. For the same period in 2003, only 214 such incidents were on record.

South Los Angeles Sets One-Year Ban On Fast-Food

In a first of its kind move, the Los Angeles city council on Tuesday approved a one-year ban on new fast-food outlets in a low-income neighborhood with a high incidence of obesity and diabetes.

The moratorium aims to attract restaurants in the 32-square mile area of South Los Angeles to offer healthier food choices. The ban covers the 500,000 people living in the area, residents of which are mainly Latinos and African-Americans.

Man Dies After Church Steeple Crashes While Being Moved

A 79-year-old man watching the construction of a church here from inside his car died when a crane hoisting a steeple collapsed and crashed on him Thursday.

Winfred Stafford of Oklahoma City was crushed in the front seat of his Toyota Avalon in the parking lot of the new Grace Assembly of God church.
