Western Europe's Highest Peak Gets Taller

estern Europe's highest peak Mont Blanc (French for white mountain) is taller than ever as snow piled atop its summit, experts described it as a weather change related occurrence.

The height was found to be 15, 783.79 ft (4,810.90 m) on Sept. 15 and 16 respectively - a 7.05 ft (2.15 m) increase in two years.

Would-be Robber Forgets To Bring Bag, Leaves Without Money

An unrehearsed robber had to drop his bank looting plans after he apparently forgot to take along a carry bag to put the stolen money. According to authorities, a young white man, in his 20s, entered a local Chase Bank branch early Monday and passed the cashier a piece of cardboard that read, "Give me your money."

"He told a teller to 'hurry up,' but when she asked him if he had a bag to put the money into, it must have flustered him. He ran off without any cash," Detective Tom Bisio of the Oakland County Sheriff's Lyon Township substation told the Detroit News.

Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist's Boyfriend Sentenced For Art Theft

A Quebec court sentenced Olympic biathlete Myriam Bedard's boyfriend to six months in jail on Friday. Nima Mazhari was sentenced after being convicted of possession of stolen property and art theft for stealing 20 paintings valued at $100,000 from elderly Montreal artist Ghitta Caiserman-Roth.

Mazhari previously shared an art studio with Caiserman-Roth, but prosecutors claimed Mazhari stole the well-known artist's paintings after the relationship went bad and she canceled the lease on the studio.

Man Files Case Against Health Drink Maker Over Long-Lasting Erection

A man has filed a case against pharmaceutical company Novartis AG, over their health drink Boost Plus, to seek unspecified damages. He claims their vitamin-enriched beverage gave him a long-lasting erection that would not decrease and which caused him to be hospitalized.

Christopher Woods, 29, says he bought the nutrition beverage at a drugstore on June 5, 2004.

Princess Diana's Car Fetches Nearly $12,000 At Manchester Auction

A car once used to chauffeur Britain's Princess Diana around raised just a little more than $12,000 at an auction on Thursday. The Jaguar Sovereign, a 1992 model in Westminster blue, went under the hammer along with 30 other vintage cars in the sale at Manchester's Simon Charles Auctioneers.

The vehicle - made to order for Buckingham Palace - sold for a modest $12,065, well under the price expected by the auctioneers.
